Show the product and the pack you want
You can begin with photos and the information already available. Identify what is still undecided; do not substitute a different material without explaining how it differs from the product you intend to pack.
- A representative product, including normal storage and handling conditions
- The target amount, finished-pack dimensions and opening requirements
- The questions you want the test to answer, such as fill variation or seal quality
Start with these three items
- 01A product description and clear sample photographs.
- 02A pack photo or drawing with the target amount and dimensions.
- 03Available film information and the main problem you want to resolve.
Sample preparation checklist
Five things to agree before a packaging trial
Use this checklist to make the discussion specific. The sample quantity, test conditions, handling requirements and receiving details must be agreed before anything is shipped.
- 01The actual product
Identify the product and batch, with storage, temperature and safe-handling instructions. Explain any difference between the sample and normal production.
- 02Amount in each pack
Give the target weight or volume, allowed variation and how you intend to check it. Explain whether there are several pack sizes.
- 03How the product behaves
Describe or film flow, clumping, dust, fragile particles, settling, foam or stringing. Include the conditions in which the problem appears.
- 04The film and finished pack
Provide a pack photo or drawing with dimensions. Add the film structure, thickness, seal layer and print requirements when available.
- 05What the trial should answer
Prioritize the questions: filling, sealing, opening, appearance or pack handling. Agree the conditions, checks and result record before the trial.

- Share the proposed pack size, opening style and any film information you have. List the properties your product needs, and agree which film will be used for the trial before treating a result as applicable to the final pack.
- How much product should I send?
- Confirm the test scope and required quantity with the team first. Also confirm the recipient, shipping instructions and any storage or safety information; there is no single quantity that fits every product and trial.
